Robotics these days have already started to become an increasingly popular trend. Because of the advancements and improvements already made in line with this concept, more and more people are gradually becoming intrested in learning more about robotics and even getting more information about it so that they would not only be able to keep up with the daily news, but they would also be more knowledgeable about what is happening to the world of science and technology. There have been already quite a number of discoveries made which relates to the concept of robotics. The most significant discoveries include a wide variety of materials that could be used in the design, production and manufacturing of these robot figures in order for more effective and efficient designs. Another thing considered is the invention of different kinds of motors which are used to make these inventions move. So what are the most common types of motors which are used to give these robots life?

The first type is the servo motor which is the type which is radio controlled, or more commonly known as RC servo motors. This woould probably be the most common motor which is used in quite a number of projects relating to robotics. Most scientists and inventors love using this motor because it has a high accuracy and it also has a great degree of control with the more commonly known PWM or pulse width modulation. If you require your robot project to have very specific movements, then this is probably one of the best motors to use.

Another motor which is commonly used is the stepper type motor which is designed by using a seris of coils. The reason behind these coils is that it has the ability to create magnetic fields which would be able to respond to permanent magnets and as a result would create rotations. To be able to control the rotation, the coils are to be switched on if you want it to rotate forward or if you want it to go reverse, then you should constantly turn it off. The sequence of these switching on and off would eventually turn the stepper motor. However, there is indeed a lack of familiarity that is existing about this specific type of motor, perhaps because this type of motor could be easily accessible and available. Though it could have great potential, there are still a lot of studies to be done about this motor.
